I am the webmaster for Richmond Parents Monthly and FiftyPlus Magazine. One of my daily tasks is to view the web stats and traffic sources. I noticed we were getting a lot of visitors referred from http://www.richmondmommies.com/, which prompted me to visit their site. It was there that I saw Top News Headlines from CNN and scrolled down to read the headline 4 drown, 3 missing at New York beaches. Naturally I was interested, since 2 of my 5 children frequent NY beaches. And both beaches that my kids go to were amongst the rescues and tragedies. Please let this be a reminder to respect the ocean and it’s fierce undertow. Only swim when a lifeguard is on duty and if you get caught in the riptide, swim sideways, not into or against the direction you are being pulled.
